The 2nd placed winner, EyeMarker from West Virginia has developed the world's first handheld, portable device capable of looking at markers in the human eye and determining if a person has breathed or absorbed toxins or nerve agents. Eye Marker Systems, Inc. has entered into a partnership with The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP). The purpose of the collaboration is to allow WVDEP to be able to rapidly assess exposure to organophosphates and other neurotoxins in WV residents that have been near or in the area of a release of those types of toxins. - download (pdf) ››

Eye Marker Systems, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Naval Medical Research Center. The goal of the CRADA is to align the companies’ capabilities and technology to further their research and development and ultimately provide an affordable, non-invasive technology to detect traumatic brain injury (TBI) in military operational environments. - download (pdf) ››

Eye Marker Systems, Inc. has entered into a partnership with The Office of Law Enforcement Technology Commercialization (OLTEC). May 2006

MD Biotech Inc. has announced it has changed its name to Eye Marker Systems Inc. The goal of the name change is to better reflect and specify the companies' technology and align the company name with its purpose.

September 2005

MD Biotech, Inc. announces the acceptance of a $2 Million investment in the company from a group of angel investors. This investment will enable the company to proceed with the continued development of their eye marker platform.

August 2005

MD Biotech, a medical device company based in Morgantown, received a $400,000 contract from the Technical Support Working Group for prototype development on its ocular scanning instrument for chemical agent exposure detection.

May 2004

EyeMarker Systems forms Master Collaborative Research, Development, Testing and Implementation Agreement with the West Virginia University Research Corporation to jointly test and validate the OSI technology to screen for toxic exposures, systemic injury and systemic diseases.

DARPA/TSWG - Phase II SBIR: OSI for Soldier Centric Technology in Non-traditional combat casualty care and for exposre to chemical threat agents and neurotoxins.
